Vision Screening

We had a pretty great Friday in Room 203. We spent our morning looking at and using our new HWT (Handwriting Without Tears) workbook. It will help us refine and practice our letter formation and neatness. We also had Vision Screening in the auditorium. Each student go their vision checked. If there is a concern, you will be contacted by the school nurse. After Reader's Workshop, we had snack and recess. We ended our morning by finishing editing our stories in Writer's Workshop. We read with a partner and prepared to share with the class on Monday.

After lunch, we recited "Little Jack Horner, " reviewed sight words, and sang "Apples and Bananas." We also read "When the Leaf Blew In." Instead of math, we had looked at a Time for Kids issue on flying cars together. For art, we finished our "lines to touch" project. The lines we made of glue yesterday had dried, so we used oil pastels to color in the space between the lines. They look cool!  I particularly liked the ones where students made a pattern.  To end the day, we had P.E. and Music. Then we packed up Friday Folders, awarded prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Have a great weekend!
