A Visit From Reader-Man!

We had a super Wednesday in Room 203. We began the day with Star of the Week. Avery shared his new favorite book, "Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type." The class enjoyed it very much!  Next we worked in our HWT (Handwriting Without Tears) workbook on the letters P and B. For Reader's Workshop, we found a special note from Reader-Man that included some awesome Power Pointers to help us point to words and read. Then, Reader Man joined us to read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" (Reader-Man looked suspiciously like Mr. E.) We tried out those Power Pointers with a partner before heading to the library. We checked out new books with Mr. Withers and Mrs. Frost. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. We ended our morning in Spanish where Sra. Colmenero taught us about "mascotas."

After lunch, we recited "Georgie Porgie," read "I Have a Family," and sang "A Turkey Named Burt." In math, we took our Module One assessment on numbers to ten. Then we had some nice Workshop time. To end the day, we had Second Step. Today we had a cargo circle session. We passed Be Kind Bunny around to take turns sharing about how we feel, what makes us happy at school, and what makes us uncomfortable in school. I will try to continue this "check-in" to see if we're all okay or need to deal with any issues in class. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
