Reading, Writing, and Art

We had a good day in Room 203. We spent our morning learning about our Star of the Week, Avery. He shared some cool family photographs with the class. For Reader's Workshop, we worked on our pointing power by matching one tap for every word. We especially focused on longer words that may trip us up. We visited the Computer Lab and played some LexiaCore5 games, too. After snack and recess, we read "Kangaroo Kazoo," brainstormed more "K" words, and finished up our "K" phonics.

After lunch, we reviewed our poem and shapes before having Writer's Workshop. We had missed our time in the morning, so we switched it to the afternoon to have enough time to try an on-demand writing sample for our upcoming unit. We ran out of time to have science, so we used our extra minutes to clean the room, our desks, and try to organize our lockers a little better. Then we went to Art.  Ms. Sundquist had the class make jumbled shape art with brand new oil pastels. Fun! Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and counted super star sticks before lining up for home.

Be sure to finish and go over homework packets for tomorrow!  Also, return any book orders if you're interested.
