More With the Letter J

We had a quick Wednesday in Room 203. We spent our morning learning about Amira, our Star of the Week. She shared her favorite book, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" The class liked it a lot! We also worked more with the letter "J." We read "J is for Jaguar" and found more words that start with the letter "j." We also reviewed our alphabet, phonics, and read the book "Families." We visited the library and got to check out a new book with Mr. Withers and Mrs. Frost. When we got back, we had Road to Reading. After snack and recess, we had Spanish. The class learned more about feelings with Sra. Colmenero.

After lunch, we recited "Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling," read "Play Ball," reviewed sight words, and sang "Apples and Bananas." We also had math. We looked at rectangles and used dot paper and markers to make our own shapes with 4 sides (2 long and 2 short) and 4 corners. To end the day, we had Second Step. We talked about accidents and what to do or say when they happen. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
