Family Dolls

We had a nice Tuesday in Rom 203. We started our morning with Star of the Week. We reviewed what we know about Avery. Then he shared some toys with the class. They included: a scratch & sketch book, a picture of a puppy, a fire engine, a race car, and an ambulance. The class liked them all!  Next we read "K is for Kangaroo" and practiced our "K" handwriting. Our fifth grade Reading Buddies dropped by to look at books with, too. After Reader's Workshop and Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. Instead of Writer's Workshop today, we made family dolls. We labeled the members of our family on fold-out dolls.

After lunch, we recited "Georgie Porgie,"reviewed sight words, sang "A Turkey Named Burt," and  finished coloring and decorating our family dolls. They look cute! Next, Nora shared her Culture Doll. She did a great job! Remember that projects are due Wednesday, December 6th. We also read an issue of Time for Kids together. It was about a Native American school and culture. We ended the day with Music and Spanish. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and gave out the prizes for twenty super star sticks we didn't get to last week.
