Being Thankful

We had a thankful Tuesday in Room 203. We began the day reading "My First Thanksgiving" and talking about Thanksgiving. Then we were visited by our Reading Buddies and looked at some books together. After Reader's Workshop, we had our last Road to Reading of this rotation. We will have new groups next week. It was raining, so we had indoor snack and recess. Then we had read a loud and practiced some phonics skills.

After lunch, we talked about what we were thankful for. We tried to write words by ourself or with a friend. We also read "A Plump and Perky Turkey" and decorated a turkey cover for our thankful picture and writing. In math, we tried identifying and then drawing solid shapes. We made a sphere, cube, cone, cylinder, pyramid, and rectangular prism. It was challenging, but many students were able to do it!  Then we went to Music and Spanish. We also went to short assembly in the gym. Mr. E spoke about being thankful and doing our best in the second semester. Then we packed up, gave prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving Break!  We will see you back in Room 203 on Monday, November 27.
