Trees and Broken Lines

We had a busy Friday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting homework and taking care of our morning activities. They called Addison as a Paw Pass winner, so that was nice. After HWT, we had Writer's Workshop. We came up with words and phrases to start our sentences. We made a chart for beginning, middle, and ending words that would best help us. Then we continued writing our true stories. After snack and recess, we had Spanish. Sra. Colmenero read "The Mitten" and discussed winter. In P.E., the class played Rainbow Tag with Mr. Simatic. When we got back to our room, we had science. We reviewed the parts of a tree, looked at a piece of a trunk, and matched pictures to tree words with a partner.

After lunch, we finished science by writing two sentences about trees in our science journals. Next we played an indoor game of Kings and Queens before reading "The Ninjabread Man" and having math. We identified solid shapes and placed them using directional words. We had another indoor game of Heads Up 7 Up before ending the day with art. We learned about broken lines and made pictures using broken lines. They look neat!  Then we cleaned up, packed up Friday Folders, passed out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home. Have a great weekend!

FYI: They just announced that next week will be Spirit Week at Beye School. I attached a list of each day's theme in your child's Friday Folder. Enjoy!
