Poinsettias

We had a fun Monday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting Friday Folders and taking care of our morning business, including the Pledge and BeyeLaws, calendar, alphabet, and exercises. After HWT, we read "Morris' Disappearing Bag" together. Since we don't have Road to Reading this week, our morning project was to look at and make a poinsettia. We looked a story about poinsettias and talked about their origins in America. Then we cut and glued the leaves and flowers onto black paper. They look nice!  After snack and indoor free time, we shared some of our Family Winter Holiday Tradition stories. In Art, Ms. Sundquist reviewed all that we learned about the lines and let each student pick a project to work on, from free draw to tracebooks, and more!

After lunch, we practiced our three holiday songs with music and shared two more Family Winter Holiday Traditions. At Music, Mrs. Hansen had the class sing, dance, and do more with "The Nutcracker." When we got back to the room, we had math. We reviewed our flat and solid shapes before working with a partner to identify the flat and solid shapes. We also looked for shapes that didn't belong. It's Monday, so next we went to the Computer Lab to work on LexiaCore5 skills and games. To end the day, we passed out homework, packed up. and lined up for home.  Let's have a great week!

Look in the green homework folder for a copy of The Ricker Report. There is no homework packet due, but several notes about the week. Check them out!
