Health Fair, Sing-A-Long, and Holiday Party

We had a fantastic Friday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting homework folders, reading a story, and taking care of our morning activities. The Beye Health Fair was today, so our fifth grade buddies from Mrs. Fogg's class came down and led us on our way. During the Health Fair, we: learned problem solving techniques, had some Nutrition Education about what we drink, tried to draw fruit shapes without looking with Ms. Sundquist, learned a hip hop dance, learned about global warming and a healthy Earth, had a snack, practiced some aerobic fitness moves, went though some fitness training, met a doctor to talk about health differences, and tried yoga. It was a lot to take in, and a lot of fun!  When we got back to the room, we had our regular snack and made pictures of our favorite part of the Health Fair.

After lunch, we packed up our things for home, passed out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and had a little fun time with our stuffed animal friends. Next we went to the gym for the Sing-A-Long. Mr. E led the school in several holiday favorites. We read another story before getting our present from Mr. Ricker. Then we watched a holiday movie while parents arrived and we set up for the party. We had a treat before breaking into groups to play dreidel games, make a snowflake with beads, and play holiday tic-tac-toe. To end the party, we sang our three holiday songs to the parents. We did a great job!  Then we got our things and went home. Have a safe and happy Winter Break!  We will see you back in Room 203 on January 9, 2017.

Oh, I'd like to thank Charlotte's mom and Gavin's mom for planning our holiday party.  I'd also like to thank Charlotte's mom, Ellie's mom, Quinn's mom, Rocco's mom, and Rocco's dad for volunteering to help at the party. Thank you!
