St. Patrick's Day, Bob Baker's Marionette Show, and Open House

We had a fun Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with our morning activities. We also read "It's St. Patrick's Day" because today is St. Patrick's Day. (We also gave a green sticker to anyone that forgot to wear green.) After Madison read a "Biscuit" book to the class, we all wrote a friendly letter to her since she is our Star of the Week. Then we went to Music with Mr. B a little early. He had our students play xylophones the whole time!  Next, Ms. Yuki invited us to a special assembly with her class. We got to see the Bob Baker Marionette show perform. It was fantastic!  The used about thirty marionettes coupled with music to perform for a few select classes, including us!  Thank you Ms. Yuki!  After recess, we had math. We finished up chapter 9 by reviewing sorting by color, shape, size, and count.

After lunch, we read "Clever Tom and the Leprechaun" and colored in a leprechaun picture. We also went to the auditorium for Theater with Ms. Nichols. She had the class practice our three "plays" in groups on the stage. We will perform for parents after Spring Break, on Thursday, March 31 at 1:45 P.M. in the auditorium. It will last about twenty minutes.  After some P.E. on the kindergarten yard, we had Star of the Week. Madison shared some nice family photographs. To end the day, we got ready for Open House by cleaning our room very thoroughly. We also started setting up some of our work for our parents. We also shared Zachary's and Moses' Science Fair projects. Then we packed up and lined up for home.

We didn't have homework this week, but please return (empty) purple folders tomorrow. Also, remember that Friday is a 12:35 Minimum Day dismissal!
