More With X

We had a fast and fun Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition inside and our morning activities. Then we read "The Carrot Seed" and "X is for Xig Xag" and came up with more "x" words. My groups read "Tap, Tap, Tap!" and "The Carrot Seed" before writing what happened at the beginning, middle and ending of the story. We will attach it to some carrot art on Friday. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Ms. Castro showed the class three more keyboarding games, including "Keyboard Climber 2."  You can always access all games at PlanetBravo.com/thirdstreet. When we got back to Room 2, we reviewed sight words, recited "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep," and worked on blending word sounds.

After lunch, we read "Seeds! Seeds! Seeds!" and had math. We worked on comparing length, height, and weight. We finished quickly. For Star of the Week, Kyle shared some cool toys. They included a Hulk Smash, Transformer battle master robots, a shark car, and an army helicopter. The class liked them a lot! Next, we celebrated Daniel's birthday. His mom brought delicious cupcakes and juice for the class to enjoy. To end the day, we played with our Reading Buddies on the big yard. A great end of the day, indeed!  Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
