Getting Ready for Open House

We had a good Wednesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read the book "Leaves" together. At language arts rotations, students traced and decorated their "kindergarten" writing. My groups took the chapter 8 math test and wrote happened in "The Tiny Seed." The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math. We did some St. Patrick's Day addition. Students added numbers, then cut and pasted answers onto the matching clover.

After lunch, we read a story and shared Ethan's Science Fair project. Then we made an Open House card for our parents. We also decorated a bag to carry things home from Open House (Thank you Ms. Maria and Ms. Karla!). For Star of the Week, Madison read us "More Spaghetti, I Say!" She did a great job! Coach Angel is busy this week with fifth grade fitness training, so we just had our own P.E. on the kindergarten yard. After packing up, we shared Charis' Science Fair project and went to the library. Mrs. Singh read us three books, including "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," "Spot's First Easter," and "Bunny's Noisy Book." Then we got our things and lined up for home.

Remember that Open House is tomorrow evening, from 5:30-6:30 P.M. We hope that you can attend!  Also, if you are interested in bringing in an optional Science Fair project, they are due by tomorrow.
