More Music and Theater

We had a busy Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and a quick version of our morning activities. We also read Lois's book "The Magic School Bus Makes Flakes" and wrote a friendly letter to Lois, our Star of the Week. Then we had Music with Mr. B. He had the class sing, jump around, and play drums. After recess, we had math. We used attribute shapes to help us sort by size.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Yankee Doodle," and finished up our science experiment from yesterday. We examined our celery and found out that the colored water moved up the tubes to the top of the celery. We learned that's what helps water spread throughout a plant to keep it alive and healthy. We had Theater in our room with Ms. Nichols because there was a luncheon going on in the auditorium. The class rehearsed "Little Miss Muffet," "Hey, Diddle, Diddle," and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." We are hoping to perform all three to parents after Spring Break on March 31st.  We had P.E. on our newly completed kindergarten yard before ending the day with art. We sponge painted a stem, leaves, and flower petals for a project next week. We also had Star of the Week. Lois shared some very nice family pictures with the class, Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check over homework packets!  Also, the Walk-A-Thon is tomorrow!
