A Tour, an Assembly, and a Cupcake Party

We had a very nice and very short Friday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting (empty) homework folders, having Nutrition, and taking care of our morning activities. Then we read the book "Spring is Here!" Traditionally the day after Open House is a day to visit other classrooms, so we took a short tour of the kindergarten and first grade rooms together. When we returned to Room 2, we got back to work. At language arts rotations, students worked on coloring, cutting, and pasting the parts of a plant. My groups read Sam and Mat book #5. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to an all school assembly at Dermody Court. They presented prizes and awards from the Walk-A-Thon and had the lip sync finale between Ms. Genut and Mr. Bassett. Perhaps appropriately, it ended in a tie.

At lunch, we were reward with cupcakes for our 100% participation in the Walk-A-Thon. Yum!  Then we packed up and watched "The Magic School Bus Gets Planted," which was all about plants and photosynthesis. Then we passed out awards for twenty super star sticks, Science Fair participation, and students that had an all-green week. Then we got our things and lined up for home. Have a fantastic Spring Break!
