The "Wh" Digraph and Egg Guy (or Girl)

We had a good day on Monday in Room 2. We began our day by collecting Friday Folders, taking care of our morning business, and reading the book "The Tree." At language arts rotations, students practiced "wh" handwriting and made the tactile page "Wheels on Wh on a Whistle." My groups took the Topic 13 math test and read "Sam and Mat" books 9 and 10. The other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we learned our new poem "Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?" and had math. We started Topic 14: Identifying and Describing Shapes. We learned about rectangles today: how to identify them and how to draw them.

After lunch, we practiced rhyming and read a book on Easter called "The Easter Ribbit." Then we colored and created "Egg Guy (or Girl)." They look great!  Then we introduced Samara as our new Star of the Week. She shared her beautiful poster and took questions from the class. We went to the big yard for P.E.  When we got back, we didn't have much time, so we did the review problems for the Topic 14 introduction and packed up for home. Then we gave out prizes for 20 super star sticks (we didn't have time after our field trip on Friday), passed out homework folders, and lined up for home.  Let's have a great week!

When you check over the homework for the week, be sure to note Friday's 12:35 P.M. minimum day dismissal!
