Ladybugs

It was a busy day today in Room 2. We started with our morning business before reading "Ladybugs" and "Ladybugs: Red, Fiery, and Bright." We did this because at language arts rotations, students finished their ladybug picture from yesterday by drawing a head, antennae, legs, and dots with a marker. They also created a second colorful ladybug that had movable wings. My groups took the topic 14 math test and worked on a Mother's Day project. The other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we recited "Hot Cross Buns" and had math. We practiced identifying left and right. Most students did well, but this is a great skill to practice until it's truly mastered.

After lunch, we practiced our Mother's Day poem two times. Then we read "Where Do Insects Live?" before completing a worksheet where we cut and pasted insects where they belong. For Star of the Week, Sua read the book "Green Eggs and Ham" to the class. She did a great job! For P.E., Coach Angel had us play a dodging game. We ended the day in the library with a story from Mr. K. Then we packed up, reviewed our homework, and lined up for home!
