Valentine's Day

We had a sweet Wednesday in Room 203. We spent our morning working on HWT, making predictions and retelling stories in Reader's Workshop, and working on "S" phonics. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. We finished up our morning learning about foods in Spanish with Sra. Colmenero.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Simple Simon," and had Star of the Week. Henry shared a favorite book on sharks with the class. We also had Second Step. We started a new unit on staying safe. We learned the eight "Never Never" Rules and talked about what to do when children are put in unsafe situations or asked to break safety rules. We ended the day with some fun. We decorated Valentine's Day bags and then passed out our cards and treats. We got a lot!  After admiring them, we packed up our treats and special gifts to home.
