The Letter S
We had a busy Monday back in Room 203. We spent our morning finishing the work we would have done on our Snow Day Friday. We finished up Valentine Guy and Valentine Girl and wrote a friendly letter to Evan, last week's Star of the Week. We started new Road to Reading groups, too. After snack, we went out to take pictures for a special project. Then we read "My 'S' Book," brainstormed "S" words, and used crayons, glue, and string to make the tactile page "String on 'S's on a Star."
After lunch, we learned our new sight words (put, you, find, where, under), recited our new poem (Simple Simon), and read "Valentine Mice" Then we painted cardboard for another special project. After brainstorming more "S" words, we practiced making good "S"s before heading to Workshop. For Star of the Week (part 2), we introduced Henry. He shared his poster and took some questions from the class. We ended the day in Spanish and P.E. We learned more about comidas from Sra. Colmenero and started a gymnastics unit in P.E. wit h Mr. Simatic. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
Be sure to check over homework for the week. Our Valentine's Day card exchange is on Wednesday.
