More With T

We had a good Tuesday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities. We brainstormed more "T" words and learned about Dr. George Washington Carver. After Road to Reading, we compared Dr. Carver to Dr. Mae Jemison. After snack and recess, we read "T is for Turtle" and had ELA Workshop. My groups read two Sam and Mat books and we looked at a Time for Kids about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students independently worked on "T" phonics and sentences. We also had our last secret center of the rotation. We change groups tomorrow!

After lunch, we reviewed our sight words, recited "Polly Put the Kettle On," and had some phonics practice. Then we had our run of Tuesday specials. We finished "The Widow's Broom" and checked out a book with Mr. Withers and Mrs. Frost in the library. We learned more about foods in Spanish with Sra. Colmenero. And we had more fun gymnastics activities with Mr. Simatic at P.E. We ended the day with Star of the Week. Ellie shared some very cool toys with the class. She had a Minecraft Spider, an alicorn, Grumpy Cat, a Pokemon toy, and a little stuffed wolf. The class liked them all! Then we packed up, reviewed homework, read a Dr. Seuss book, and lined up for home!
