Book Fair

We had a pleasant Wednesday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities and HWT. After Road to Reading, we visited the Book Fair. We got a chance to look around at some of the books on sale this week in the Commons. The Book Fair is open from 7:30 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. on both Wednesday and Thursday, and from 7:30 A.M. until 12:00 noon on Friday. After snack and recess, we read "R is for Rabbit" and had ELA Workshop. Students worked independently on 'R' phonics and sentences, while I gave the Math Module 3 mid-assessment at my table. We did well! Mrs. Logan also helped with the assessment. We also started a new rotation of secret centers. They include: drawing a picture with crayons at the Art Center, LexiaCore5 games at the Computer Center, addition practice at the Math Center, exploring with shape links at the Mystery Center, making our own mini-book at the Reading and Writing Center, and identifying the four seasons at the Science Center.

After lunch, we reviewed our sight words, recited "Jack and Jill," and had math. We worked on volume and finding the objects that hold more. For Star of the Week, Charlotte read a book, "Olivia'" to the class. She did an amazing job!  She also brought her favorite book, "Ramona," which we will read tomorrow. To end the day, we had Second Step. Mrs. Z and I led a lesson on managing anger. We learned ways to deal with strong feelings, calm down, and not hurt others. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Remember that tomorrow and Friday are 11:00 A.M. dismissal days!
