Music, Theater, and an Ice Cream Party!

We had a memorable Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and a super fast version of our morning activities. We read a chapter from Kaia's favorite book, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," too.  Then we all wrote a friendly letter to Kaia, our Star of the Week. Next, we went to Music. Mr. B had the class singing, jumping, using rhythm sticks, and playing xylophones in rhythm. It was fun!  After recess, we had math. We finished our review of chapter 7. We will test next week. We will also spend next week on money, to coincide with Presidents' Day.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words and recited "Little Boy Blue." Then we decorated our large Valentine bags. Next we went to the auditorium for theater. The class rehearsed their song and poem for the Black History Month performance. They also acted our some nursery rhymes on stage. After P.E. on the big yard, we had Star of the Week. Kaia shared some nice pictures with the class. Then we passed out Valentine's Day cards and treats in preparation for our party. We enjoyed some delicious ice cream, toppings, cookies, and cupcakes to end the day. What a great time!  Special thanks to our room parents and parent volunteers that helped out!  Then we packed up, got our big bag of goodies, and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow!
