A Very Busy Day

We had a very busy Thursday in Room 2. We began the day inside because of the rainy weather. We had nutrition and took care of our morning activities before reading "A Rainy Day" and "V is for Vulture." We worked whole group to complete a "v" phonics page and wrote some "v" word sentences, too. Then we went to Room 32 for Music with Mr. B. He had the class moving, using rhythm sticks, playing the xylophone, and singing "Macaroni" and So La Mi (pronounced salami). It was fun!  Then we had indoor recess since the yard was still so wet. For math, we read "Dimes" and learned about dimes. We also held, examined, and identified dimes.

After lunch, we recited "There Was a Crooked Man" and were visited by Mr. Abrams. He shared his violin with the class. He also played a few songs. Next, we went to the auditorium for Theater. We rehearsed with Ms. Nichols (and Mrs. Lee's class) for next week's performance during the African American Heritage Assembly. It will start next Thursday, Feb. 25 at 1:15. Our class will perform somewhere in the middle of the show.  We had P.E. on the big yard before going to the PTA Reflections assembly in Dermody Court. It was a bit sunny and long for K, but we got through it. Then we packed up, reviewed homework and field trip needs, and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish and check over homework for Friday  Also, our field trip is tomorrow. Have your child wear our blue class t-shirt and comfortable shoes.  Please pack them some snacks and a drink, too. Kyle's dad said he would provide pizza for lunch, but a few extras will help!  See you tomorrow!
