More With Money and Water

We had a pretty good Wednesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. We also read "Vera Viper's Valentine" and came up with more "V" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "V" phonics and sentences. My groups took an informative writing assessment where we wrote about ways to save water. It was a little challenging, but you can see all the progress we've made this year!  The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math. We read and learned about nickels. We learned that Thomas Jefferson is on the front, Monticello is on back, its value, and more.

After lunch, we did some editing, reviewed sight words, and recited "There Was a Crooked Man." We also read and leaned about water. We conducted an experiment where we observed water and how it moves and reacts. We used eyedroppers and magnifying glasses to help. It was fun!  After a little choose time, we read "The Picture Book of Jackie Robinson." We also decorated a picture of him for African-American History Month. By this point of the day, it had started raining. Coach Angel came to us for P.E. We played cup stacking games and cheered on the participants. Madison and Peter ended up as co-champions for the day. To end the day, we went to the library where Mrs. Singh read the class two books. Then we put up our chairs, packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
