Holiday Sight Words

We has a nice Friday in Room 2. We began our day by collecting homework and having Nutrition. After taking care of our morning business, we read "Get Well, Santa!" At language arts rotations, students worked on matching holiday sight words to pictures. Most of the class then wrote sentences using those words, even though they didn't have to. My groups took the chapter 5 math test and finished our "Time to Eat!" mini-books. We wrote what we like to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to Room 21. We sang songs with Ms. Yuki's class and got to play games, toys, and play-doh with them too. It was fun!

After lunch, we had a popcorn party. We did such a nice job performing our holiday songs this week that we got to eat a cup of popcorn and watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas." Then we awarded prizes for twenty super star sticks and read "Careful, Santa!" To end the day, we said good-bye to Summer, who will be moving over the break. Then we passed out certificates for an all-green week, as well as a small gift from me for every student. Have a wonderful Winter Break!
