Ethnicity Dolls and Hanukkah Menorahs

We had a busy Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Olive the Octopus's Day of Juggling" and came up with more "o" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "short o" phonics and sentences. My groups worked on decorating a holiday project. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Ms. Castro had the class work on coding using "Angry Birds Hour of Code." It went pretty well!  You can access it at PlanetBravo.com/thirdstreet/. When we got back to Room 2, we reviewed sight words, recited "Old Woman in a Shoe," and tried some rhyming.

After lunch, we read "Eight Nights of Hanukkah" and decorated a menorah. Since our at-home projects were due today, we also shared several Ethnicity Dolls. Next, we had Reading Buddies with Room 19. For Star of the Week, David shared some toys. He had some neat bead designs, a building game called Timber, and a 3D maze game. They were cool!  Then we packed up and lined up for home!

We will finish sharing our Ethnicity Dolls tomorrow and Thursday (if needed). So far, we are doing a wonderful job. Stop by and check them out!
