Christmas Tree Guy and Christmas Tree Girl

We had a fun Friday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting homework and having Nutrition. Then we took care of our morning activities and read "Bear's Christmas Star." At language arts rotations, students decorated and cut our pieces to make Christmas Tree Guy or Christmas Tree Girl. My groups read "A Map" and wrote a friendly letter to Summer, our Star of the Week.  The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to visit Room 21. We sang songs and got to play blocks, puzzles, dress up, and more with Ms. Yuki's class. It was fun!

After lunch, we reviewed our sight words of the week and recited "Little Nut Tree." We also read "Christmas Mice" and "Christmas Cats." Then we finished Christmas Tree Guy and Christmas Tree Girl by pasting our pieces where they belonged and adding arms and legs.  They look cute!  For Star of the Week, Summer had the class estimate Korean magnets. The class made guesses between 20 and 99. There were 66 Korean magnets. Kyle made the best estimation of 67.  At P.E., we worked with a partner to bounce a ball and throw a frisbee. We also got some free recess. When we got back to the room, we practiced our holiday song and packed up Friday Folders. To end the day, we passed out awards for twenty super star sticks, gave out certificates for an all-green week, and lined up for home. Have a great weekend!

Don't forget that Ethnicity Doll projects (with writing) are due this Tuesday, December 8!
