Holiday Dot Art and the Book Fair

We had a good Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition inside and our morning activities. Then we read "Todd's Odd Day," focusing on the "short o" sound. At language arts rotations, students worked on finding "short o" words. My groups read "I Like, We Like" and wrote a friendly letter to David, our Star of the Week. The other groups had the last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we had math. Students worked with a partner to solve addition problems. It went pretty well!

After lunch, we reviewed our sight words and recited "Old Woman in a Shoe." Then we worked on some holiday art projects. We used Q-Tips to paint with dots on a tree and a star. We will use these items later as part of our gifts. For Star of the Week, David shared some nice family photos. For P.E., we had some free play on the big yard. Next, we went to the Book Fair. Students got to look around and explore what they had to offer. We also made a guess for the estimation contest they are having this week. To end the day, we shared two more Ethnicity Dolls, reviewed homework, practiced our holiday songs, and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check over homework for tomorrow!
