Holiday Party

We had a great Thursday in Room 2. We began the day inside with Nutrition and took care of our morning activities. Then we read "Snow Bear's Christmas Countdown" and "P is for Panda." At language arts rotations, students worked on "P" phonics and sentences. My groups took the chapter 5 math test and finished our "Time to Eat" mini-books by writing about what we like to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we packed up our holiday cards and gifts and finished our Kwanzaa kinaras from yesterday.

After lunch, we rehearsed our holiday songs one last time. Then we read "K is for Kwanzaa" and completed a Kwanzaa patterning page with harvest festival items. At 1:00, we had our holiday party. The class started by performed three songs: "On This Night," "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer." They did a fantastic job!  Then we broke into groups to make marshmallow snowmen, play"Pin the Tail" on Olaf, decorate an ornament, and play dreidel games for gelt. After eating some delicious food and playing, we ended the party with a freeze dance and some goody bags to take home. Thank you so much to our room parents (Ethan's mom, Jack's mom, Moses' mom, and Stella's mom)  and the rest of the parents that came to help and participate! The class and I appreciate you very much!

Be sure to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow! Oh, and don't forget that tomorrow is a 12:35 minimum day.
