The 100th Day of Kindergarten

We had  the 100th day of kindergarten today in Room 2. We began our Monday by collecting Friday Folders and having Nutrition outside. Then we took care of morning activities, which included 100 exercises and finding some Zero Heroes. We followed that by reading the story "Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for the 100th Day of Kindergarten." At language arts rotations, students worked on sewing a necklace with ten groups of ten Froot Loops ... a 100 necklace!  Hopefully, they made it home uneaten. My groups took the Topic 8 math test and wrote sentences about what we would do with 100 dollars. The other groups had secret centers.  After recess (and a Zero Hero treat), we recited our new poem "Little Boy Blue." We also read "The 100th Day of School," decorated Zero Hero pictures, and got a chance to try on our 100 glasses that we painted last week.

After lunch,  Ethan, Ziggy, and Kayla got to share their 100 Day books. Then I read "100 Days of School." The class then tried a math page full of odd and even numbers. After coloring the odd numbers green and the even numbers yellow, a mystery picture was supposed to be revealed. It was a ... 100!  For Star of the Week, Jacob showed his cool poster. He also took questions and comments from the class.  P.E. is back on the big yard this month. We took out the bouncy balls and jump ropes and had a great time. When we got back, Hudson, Boyd, and Abby shared their 100 Day books.  We've shared 24 of the 25. I think they look fantastic!  Be sure to stop by and check them out this week!  After cleaning up, we gathered our 100 necklaces and 100 glasses and took a picture together. Then we packed up, passed out homework, and gave out the prizes from Friday that we didn't get to because the assembly went long. Then we lined up for home. I hope that everyone had a fun 100 Day! Let's have a great week!

Be sure to look over the homework for the week. No huge announcements, just reminders about next week's ice cream party and field trip.
