Music with Ms. Phiri

We has a nice Friday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting homework and having Nutrition outside. When we came in, we took care of our morning activities and read the stories "The Places in My Neighborhood" and "W is for Wolf."  At language arts rotations, students worked on "W" phonics and sentences. My groups read "Nat" and wrote a friendly letter to Ethan, our Star of the Week. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we read our sight words, recited "Humpty Dumpty," and had math. We used counters to make 17, 18, and 19.

After lunch, we had music. Ms. Phiri had us sing several songs, including "If You're Happy and You Know It" and "The Hokey Pokey."  When we got back, we had Star of the Week. Ethan had the class estimate Legos. There were 92 Legos. Katharine guessed it exactly!  We had P.E. on the big yard next. To end the day, we did some addition practice with a partner. Then we packed up Friday Folders, gave out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and passed out certificates for an all green week. Friends of Third also gave us some yellow wristbands to remind students about the school wide Walk-A-Thon on Friday, March 20th. An information packet is included in the Friday Folder. Have a great weekend!
