Skeletons, Music, and a Popcorn Party

We had a fun and very fast Friday in Room 2. We began the day collecting homework and having Nutrition outside. Then we came in and took care of our morning activities and read "Your Bones." At language arts rotations, students drew bones in their body and used different kinds of pasta to make a skeleton. They were messy, but very fun to make!  My groups read "Sit" and wrote a friendly letter to Dylan, our Star of the Week. The other groups had their first secret center of this rotation. After recess, we reviewed sight words, recited "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep," and had a popcorn party!  We watched The Magic School Bus: Flexes its Muscles" with a cup of popcorn.

After lunch, we had Music. Ms. Phiri had the class go through several songs together. When we got back to Room 2, we had Star of the Week. Dylan had the class estimate origami turtles. There were 16 origami turtles. The best two estimates were 15 by Kayla and 17 by Amelia. We went out for P.E. on the big yard next. While we were there, we had a fire drill. After some announcements about the Walk-A-Thon on March 20th, they poured an ice bucket onto Coach Angel because the school met its goal of raising $5,000 by today. Then we had some more P.E. time. To end the day, we packed up Friday Folders (which include our 100 Day books), gave our prizes for 20 super star sticks, and passed out certificates for an all-green week. Then we lined up for home. Have a great weekend!
