A Rainy Tuesday

We had a rainy Tuesday in Room 2. We began our day inside because of the rain. Students had Nutrition or read books. After morning activities, we read "Olive the Octopus's Day of Juggling." Then we came up with more words that start with or have the "short o" sound in them. At language arts rotations, students found "short o" words and wrote sentences. Most wrote four or more!  My groups wrote in our kindergarten journals about Native Americans. The other groups had secret centers. After indoor recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Scott had the class use Wixie.com to illustrate their favorite part of their favorite book. When we returned to Room 2, we recited "Old Woman in a Shoe," did some rhyming, and practiced our sight words.

We had lunch outside, but under the roof at the tables near the cafeteria. We couldn't have recess, so we stayed in and watched "The Magic School Bus Gets Programmed" with Mrs. Lee's class. It was about computers. After Chloe read a book to the class, we practiced our holiday songs and had math. We worked on finding sums. We're doing very well. We canceled reading buddies because of the weather, so we had a little inside choose time before Star of the Week. Leland shared some nice toys: an ocelot, a cat named Whiskers, and a dalmatian named Dot. To end the day, Alexander shared his Ethnicity Doll. He did a great job decorating and presenting to the class. Don't forget that all projects are due next Tuesday, December 9th! Then we packed up and lined up for home. Stay dry!
