Another Rainy Tuesday

It was another rainy Tuesday in Room 2. We started our day inside again since it was drizzling. We had Nutrition and took care of morning activities first. Then we read "The Quiet Quail" and came up with some more "Q" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "q" phonics and question sentences. My groups read "Can Tam See?" and finished decorating a special project. The other groups had secret centers. We had indoor recess before going to the Tech Lab. Mr. Scott had us use Wixie again to illustrate the beginning and ending of "Humpty Dumpty." Try it at home!  Back in Room 2, we recited "Jack Be Nimble," sang "Apples and Bananas," and shared Amelia's Ethnicity Doll. The class really did a nice job on them!

After lunch by the cafeteria, we watched "The Magic School Bus" with Mrs. Lee's class in Room 1. I finished all of our letter, sound, and word testing, too. We did a wonderful job as a class. Keep it up!  For math, we worked on using the minus sign. We created subtraction problems and solved them with counters, drawings, or our fingers. Mr. Bassett canceled our Reading Buddies time because of the rain, so we made pictures or cards for our fourth and fifth grade friends. We'll try to stop by tomorrow to share what we made.  Then we did a rehearsal of our three holiday songs, put, up our chairs, got our things, and lined up for home.  Stay dry!
