Tech Lab and Reading Buddies

A quick Tuesday in Room 2!  We began the day with our morning business. Then we read "The Pig's Picnic" and brainstormed more "P" words. For language arts rotations, we did a cut and paste "p" phonics page and wrote sentences. At my table, we read "See Mat, Sam, Sis, and Mit" and took the topic 7 math test. The other two groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we had Tech Lab. Mr. Riko had us continue to try and make shapes using abcya.com. He also had us use the shift key to label the shape and write our name. When we got back, we reviewed the poem "Little Bo-Peep."

After lunch, Finn shared his Ethnicity Doll. Then we had language mixing.  My group read, talked about foods we like, and wrote what we like to eat for lunch. We also sang "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." For Star of the Week, Ethan shared some toys: a SeaWorld "Shamu"bubble gun, a Totoro stuffed toy, and a Brachiosaurus dinosaur. They were cool!  To end the day, we went to room 19 for Reading Buddies. We wrote holiday stories with the fourth grades in Mr. Bassett's class. Two students-Warner and Basia-even read them to the class.  It was impressive!  Then we packed up and headed for home.

Don't forget to finish up, bring in, and be ready to share Ethnicity Doll projects tomorrow!
