A Rainy Thursday...

We ended up having a very rainy Thursday in Room 2. It was dry when we started the day with our morning business and by reading "Hurry Santa." Sometime during Language arts rotations, when we were working on a winter/holiday picture, the drops began to fall. At my table we read "I Like, We Like" and wrote letters to Finn, our Star of the Week.  The other two groups had secret centers.  At the end of rotations, we figured out that we had to have snack and recess inside, so we did. Then we went over our poem "Jack Be Nimble" and worked on using the minus sign and subtraction at math.

We went to the covered cafeteria to eat lunch and watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas" when we came back since we were still on rainy day schedule. Then we read "Seven Candles for Kwanzaa" and colored and cut a kinara candleholder as a project after. Finn shared his pictures for Star of the Week next. We couldn't go out for P.E., so we used our time wisely to finish up and pack our holiday gift  bags. Enjoy!  To end the day, we shared a book Mia brought, "Frozen."She had a CD to go with it, but it kept skipping, so I read the story instead. It was that kind of day. Then we packed up and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish up homework packets tonight. And remember that our class party begins at 11:00 A.M. tomorrow. We will start with food, then some activities inside, and take it from there. See you then!
