A Secret Project and a Busy Wednesday Afternoon

Another busy day here in Room 2!  After our morning business,  we read a "Short O" book called "Todd's Odd Day." During language arts rotations, we worked on  an octopus phonics page where we separated "short o" and "long o" pictures. At my table, two groups learned 5 food groups. Then we tried to write an example of each group in a sentence in our journals. The other two groups had their last secret center of this rotation.  After snack and recess, we had math and a secret project. Students worked on their addition practice while I worked with small groups.

After lunch, we read "Penguin's Christmas." Then we finished up our math and small group secret projects. For Star of the Week, Emerson shared her favorite book: "The 12 Dancing Princesses." Then we started our busy afternoon. Music with Ms. Ingram was first. Student sang, danced, and practiced our holiday songs. I believe we will be performing them for available parents on Wednesday, December 18th. Then we went to P.E. Coach Angel led us in a game of Flag Battles. Then we went to the library. Mr. K read us two stories from West Africa. One from Ghana and one from Nigeria. Finally, we came back to the room and packed up for home.
