Music and More with M

Another quick minimum day in Room 2!  We led off with our morning business and by reading "Monkey's Miserable Monday." Then we brainstormed some "M" words in anticipation of our independent work. During language arts rotations, students completed a messy "m" phonics page and wrote sentences on the back. At my table, we took the math Topic 6 test and worked on our "M" handwriting. Be sure to be careful making those "m"s this week!

After snack and recess, we had music. Ms. Ingram moved our time up to accommodate all the kindergarten classes today. We moved to the beat of a drum,  sang the "hokey pokey," sang a snowman song, echoed Ms. Ingram, used handkerchiefs to move to the music, and played a freeze dance. It was a busy class!  When we got back, we recited "Little Miss Muffet" before going to lunch.

After lunch recess, we had Star of the Week. We read Ava's favorite book "The Monster Mash." Then she shared a lot of toys. She had a stuffed dog, a dinosaur, two sharks, and orca, a turtle, a bat, and a bag full of cars! We ended  the day by packing up and then singing a silly song about "A Turkey Named Burt."
