Art and Joel's Birthday

We had a rushed start to our Friday. After collecting homework and racing through the calendar, we attended an assembly in the auditorium called "Safe Moves." It reviewed the various street signs and reminded students (and parents if they need reminding) to stop, look, and listen and be careful when crossing the street. When we came back, I read "Ten Plump Turkeys" before centers. During rotations, students made a two-sided piece of art with a turkey on one side and a Native American on the other. My groups wrote letters to Basia while other groups had secret centers. Because of the assembly, we had to finish up after snack and recess.

After lunch, we had art with Ms. Maria and Miss Karla. We did part one of a two part Thanksgiving Day surprise gift for parents. See if you can figure out what it will be!  We had Star of the Week next. Basia had us estimate plastic ice cubes. Finn guessed the exact amount..20.  Basia did a great job this week!  At P.E. we played "Red Light, Green Light."  We ended the day with a birthday. Joel's birthday is on Tuesday, but we celebrated it today. Joel's mom brought muffins , juice, and a goody bag for every student!  Then we packed up our Friday Folders, handed out green certificates, and headed home.

Don't forget that there is no school on Monday in honor of Veterans' Day. Also, Parent/Teacher conferences begin on Tuesday, November 12th. A reminder notice is in your child's Friday folder. Have a wonderful three-day weekend!
