Art and Star of the Week

We came to the end of our shortened week Friday. After collecting homework and morning business, we read "A Plump and Perky Turkey" and "M is for Moose."  During language arts rotations, students worked on "M" phonics and sentences.  My groups wrote a letter to Ava, our Star of the Week. Other groups started our new secret centers: TuxPaint at the computer center, addtion at the math center, leaf tracings at the art center, "A Cuddle for Claude" at the listening center, and blocks and Legos at the play center.

After snack and recess, we recited our poem "Little Miss Muffet"and had math. We did a simple addition page with sums to 3. Students got to practice joining two numbers. We will use fingers and unifix cubes to make this process easier and more visual.  Then we had Star of the Week. Ava brought in rocks for us to estimate. There were 97 rocks. For the second week in a row,  Finn guessed it exactly!  By the way, Ava did a wonderful job sharing this week!  After lunch, we had art with Ms. Maria.  We finished up our secret Thanksgiving projects. Then we packed up our Friday Folders, passed out our green certificates, and then headed for home.

Have a great weekend!
