Groundhog Day
We had an easy Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "It's Groundhog Day!" and "T is for Turtle" and brainstormed more "t" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "T" phonics and sentences. My groups took the chapter 6 math test and finished our "Bears, Bears, Everywhere" mini-books. The other groups had their last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Ms. Castro taught the class about graphs and had them make pictographs using Wixie.com. When we got back to Room 2, we reviewed our sight words and recited "Polly Put the Kettle On."
After lunch, we shared some 100 Day Books that were turned in early. They look great so far! Remember that they are due next Tuesday, February 9th. Then we read "Groundhog's Special Secret" and made a little groundhog cut and paste. We also found out that the groundhog didn't see his shadow this morning, so spring is coming! For Star of the Week, Jayden shared some neat toys. He brought in a Transformer, a shark car, a Batman car, and some Legos. Since our Reading Buddies were on a field trip, we had a short recess time on the kindergarten yard. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
