100 Day Book Projects (on the 99th Day)
We had a great Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Umbrella Bird's Umbrella" and brainstormed more "Short U" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "short u" phonics and sentences. My groups read "Can Nan?" and wrote what they would do with $100. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Ms. Castro had the class play two games at PlanetBravo.com where you add to make ten. Then, using Wixie.com, students drew objects and switched with a partner to also make ten. When we got back to Room 2, we reviewed sight words, recited "Little Boy Blue," and shared some 100 Day books.
After lunch, we shared some more 100 Day Books. I know that some of the other kindergarten classes celebrated today as 100 Day, but it's actually day 99. We stayed home that one day in December, and I don't count that as a day in school. So we will have all of our 100 Day activities tomorrow. I hope that works for everyone! We also finished up a secret Valentine's Day project. For Star of the Week, Kaia, shared a penguin toy, a soccer ball, and a lot of ShopKins. The class liked them all! To end the day, we had Reading Buddies. We looked at books with our friends from Room 19. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
