Field Trip to the California Science Center
We had a great Friday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting homework for the week. Then we celebrated Sam's birthday tomorrow with some donut holes and fruit. When we came back inside, we took care of our morning activities and read "Quarters." Then we colored, cut, and glued some large quarters. After going over the field trip rules, we got into groups and headed for the bus for our field trip to the California Science Center. When we got there, we had to wait a bit, but finally got a chance to explore all that they have there. Kyle's family generously proved a pizza lunch (Thank you!) before we went into the iMAX Theater to watch the film "National Parks Adventure 3D." It was a beautiful film to look at and experience. After the movie, we got a little more exploration time. Students got to see ecosystems, air and space exhibits, the world of life, and the space shuttle Endeavour. It was a fun day! Eventually, we had to get back to the bus and ride home. We got some recess time before packing up our Friday Folders, awarding prizes for twenty super star sticks, and giving certificates for an all-green week.
I'd like to give special thanks to Kyles' family for the wonderful pizza lunch, as well as to to our awesome parent chaperones: Bishop's mom, Christopher's mom, Daniel's mom, Ethan's mom, Jack's mom, Jayden's mom, Karma's dad, Kyle's mom and dad, Madison's mom, Moses' mom, Peter's dad, Pierra's dad, Zachary's dad, and Zuri's grandmother!
Have a fantastic weekend!
