Good-Bye Butterflies!

We said good-bye to our butterflies on Friday.  We were lucky to have all five emerge from the chrysalis (the fifth came out Friday morning). We didn't want to keep them in the classroom over the weekend, so we let them go free at the end of the day. We took the pavilion to the kindergarten yard and opened it up. Some needed a little help out and onto the flowers, but with encouragement flapped their wings and flew away. It was sweet to hear the students cheer the butterflies as they tested their wings. I think that watching them go through the life cycle was a truly beneficial experience!
