The Letter M

Welcome back!  We began our 2017 by unpacking Friday Folders and taking care of our morning activities, including sorting lunches, updating the calendar, and meeting our new student! Billie will be joining us in Room 203, which makes 8 girls and 9 boys in our class now. After our introductions, we used crayons, glue, and marshmallows to make the tactile page "Marshmallows on 'M's on a Mitten." Next we read "My 'M' Book" and brainstormed some "m" words. We also worked on correctly forming our "M"s with handwriting and sentences. After snack and recess, we went to Art. Ms. Sundquist had the class make Lois Ehlert-inspired snowmen. We will add pieces to make a collage next week.

After lunch, we learned our new sight words of the week, recited the poem "Little Miss Muffet," and had some phonics practice. At Music, Mrs. Hansen and the class had fun dancing the "Irish Stew."When we got back to the room, we had math. We reviewed flat and solid shapes together. Then we worked on drawing the solid shapes. It was a little tricky, but fun. After a little choose time, we ended the day in the Computer Lab. We work on LexiaCore5 games. Then we passed out homework, packed up, and lined up for home.

Be sure to look at homework folders this week. We do have a packet due Friday. Let's have a great week!
