More With Dr. King

We had a nice Friday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting homework and taking care of our morning activities. After HWT, we read "Happy Birthday Martin Luther King" and talked about Dr. King. Then we made a human rights award in honor of Dr. King. After snack, we performed an experiment with a white and a brown egg. While the outsides were different, we noticed that they were both the same inside. Then we compared that with people and the words of Dr. King. In Spanish, we learned more about family with Sra. Colmenero. In P.E., we went through the Heartland Adventure obstacle course again with Mr. Simatic. Before lunch, we rehearsed our three Pot Luck Celebration songs in our room and with Ms. Bretl's class.

After lunch, we recited "Little Miss Muffet," reviewed our sight words, and had math. We practiced more measurement using cubes and classroom objects. We determined when objects were longer or shorter than the cubes. After recess, we had art. We continued our work with lines by making still life fruit pictures using oil pastels. They look cool!  Then we cleaned up, packed up Friday Folders, passed out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Remember that we do not have school on Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, so have a great three-day weekend!
