The Letter T
We had a nice Monday back in Room 203. We began our day by collecting Friday Folders and taking care of our morning activities. We read "My 'T' Book" and came up with words that start with "T." We also used crayons, glue, and toothpicks to make the tactile page "Toothpicks on 'T's on a Tomato." After Road to Reading (where we made new groups), we finished our tactile page and had snack. Then we focused on handwriting by forming neat "t"s and writing "T" sentences. After we had recess, we went to Art. Ms. Sundquist had the class work more with clay. The students that hadn't finished their pinch pots made them, and the students that had made a different object out of clay. I believe they will glaze them next week.
After lunch, we learned our new sight word list, recited our new poem ("Polly Put the Kettle On"), and practiced phonics skills. We even snuck in "Hop on Pop" for Dr. Seuss week! In Music the class used xylophones to make music with Mrs. Hansen. Cool! Back in Room 203, we had math. We began with a counting sprint to see how quickly we can solve problems. Then we worked on counting objects before finding the one that was more or less. For Star of the Week, we introduced Ellie. She shared her awesome poster and took questions from the class. We ended the day in the Computer Lab. We worked more with LexiaCore5 games. Then we packed up, got our new homework packet, and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!
Be sure to check over homework for the week. Please return permission slips for our field trip as soon as you can. Thanks!
