100 Day!

Wednesday was the 100th day of school in Room 203!  We had a fun day of activities all day long! We began our day with a quick version of our morning activities and by reading "Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of Kindergarten." Then we split into groups to visit ten different stations in the kindergarten hallway along with Ms. Bretl's Room 200 and Mrs. Sigunick's Room 202. The activities included a pom-pom relay, 100 seconds of exercises, a bean bag toss to try and get 100 points, building with 100 Lego, making 100 Day crowns, a snack break, seeing yourself at 100 with an age yourself app on an iPad, 1-0-0 art, 100 dot art, filling up containers with 100 objects, and a dice race to 100. It was a lot of fun! We'd especially like to thank all of the parents volunteers that helped us today! From our class, we'd like to thank Charlotte's mom, Ellie's mom, Ellie's dad, and Rocco's mom!  Plus, another thank you to Ellie's mom and Gabriel's mom for the juice boxes! When we finished we went out for some well-earned recess. When we returned, we read "The 100th Day of School" and started a 100 sewing project. We used Froot Loops and string to try to make a necklace of 100.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Jack Be Nimble," and shared Zach's and Gabriel's 100 Day Books. Everyone really did a great job on them! Next we looked for 100 Zero Heroes hidden in the room! Then we continued to sew our 100 Froot Loop necklaces. Not everyone made it to 100, but we did get pretty far. We also got a handful to eat, too! For Second Step, we had a booster week. We reviewed the steps to help calm down and belly breathe, plus we talked about kindness, and being kind to others. To end the day, we took a picture of everyone dressed in their 100 Day glasses and necklaces before packing up, reviewing homework, and lining up for home.
