The Letter J
We had another nice day in Room 2. We began our Monday by collecting Friday Folders and having Nutrition. When we came in we read "My J Book" and brainstormed some "J" words. At language arts rotations, students made the tactile page "Jewel on 'J's on a Jellybean" using crayons, glue, and colorful (plastic) jewels. My groups read "I Like" and made neat "J"s. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we learned our new poem "Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling" and had math. We looked at objects, made one or two more, and then counted how many.
After lunch, we recited our "Five Little Pumpkins" song and read "Pumpkin Day, Pumpkin Night." Then we made five little pumpkin puppets using construction paper, crayons, popsicle sticks and tape. They're cute! We'll have them in our cubbies all week. Then we introduced our new Star of the Week, Stella. She shared her beautiful poster and took questions and comments from the class. At P.E. we used hula hoops and jump ropes again. When we got back, we had art with Ms. Maria and Miss Karla. We finished up some secret projects and had free draw with markers. Then we packed up our things, passed out homework packets for the week, and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!
Be sure to check over homework packets. Three items to note: Our Theater performance is Thursday at 12:00 noon in the auditorium. PTA Reflections directions go home today. Projects are OPTIONAL, but will be rewarded in class. Your child may draw a picture, take a photograph, or create another piece of art following the theme "The World Would Be a Better Place If..." See me for an entry form. Entries are due by November 20. Lastly, we are collecting for field trip t-shirts. A note is attached to the homework. As always, see me if you have any questions. Thanks!
