Happy Halloween!
We had a fun Halloween in Room 2. We began Friday by collecting homework and having Nutrition. Then we had morning activities and read the book "The Hallo-Weiner." At language arts rotations, students got to create their own Halloween picture using oil pastels on black paper. My groups wrote a letter to Sophia, our Star of the Week. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we recited "Georgie Porgie," did some rhyming, and had math. We looked for missing numbers and then identified if each one was odd or even.
After lunch, we practiced our "Five Little Pumpkins" and had Star of the Week. Sophia had the class estimate macaroni. There were 70 macaroni. Jacob got it exactly right! After we packed up Friday Folders, we watched "The Magic School Bus In the Haunted House." Then to end the day, we had our Halloween party. Our class parents led us through several fun activities, including decorating a treat bag, playing Halloween Bingo, having a costume parade, enjoying Halloween cupcakes, and passing out our treats! We also did a fantastic job performing our "Five Little Pumpkins" song for the parents. It was fun! Thank you for such a great parent turnout! Special thanks to our room parents (Alexander's mom, Dashiell's mom, and Lila's mom) for planning the party. Have a happy and safe Halloween weekend!
