Safe Moves

We had a pretty good Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Tacky and the Winter Games" and "R is for Rabbit."  At language arts rotations, students worked on "R" phonics and sentences.  My groups read "It Can Go, Go, Go" and wrote a friendly letter to Ethan, our Star of the Week. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math. We worked on problem solving subtraction problems with a partner.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited our poem "Jack and Jill," and cut out our penguin writing and shirt from yesterday. For Star of the Week, Ethan shared some nice family photographs and read us the book "Dot and the Dog." Then we went to the big yard for a "Safe Moves" assembly on pedestrian safety. Students learned (or reviewed) how to safely travel by foot or on bike on or near our city streets. Next, we had P.E. on the kindergarten yard. To end the day, we had art. We made pictures illustrating "The Shape of My Family" using pencils and crayons. They look great!  Then we packed up, reviewed homework, did a Star Wars Mad Libs story with Ethan, and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check over homework for tomorrow!
